Entry Level Biology Jobs
There are other places to search for entry level biology jobs. Consider asking your professor for part time work in field or laboratory research. The National Science Foundation has a list of research experience projects at different colleges. A college project will help you develop professional contacts. There are also many biology related societies, museums and institutes that you can call to find out if they have any jobs available. Additionally, consider a government job. The U.S. Departments of Interior, Defense, Health, Environmental Protection, and Agriculture hire biologists.
With just a Bachelor’s degree, consider non-scientific entry level biology jobs; you can work in zoos, aquariums, journal writing, museums, parks and schools. Look for jobs with relative security. Remember that a lot of research jobs are funded, so they may not be long term positions. Also note that you will be paid more if you work for a private research company or for the government rather than for a non-profit or college.
