The U.S. Departments of Interior, Defense, Health, Environmental Protection, and Agriculture hire biologists.

With just a Bachelor’s degree, consider non-scientific entry level biology jobs; you can work in zoos, aquariums, journal writing, museums, parks and schools. Look for jobs with relative security. Remember that a lot of research jobs are funded, so they may not be long term positions. Also note that you will be paid more if you work for a private research company or for the government rather than for a non-profit or college.
