Straight Truck Jobs-Local Professional Driving
Straight Truck Jobs are those that involve a truck that transports cargo in a box mounted to its chassis. The truck does not tow a trailer. All the axles are attached on the same frame. Examples of straight trucks are dump trucks, cement mixers, garbage trucks, and delivery trucks. Companies that use straight trucks are moving companies, rental truck companies, furniture delivery, commercial service companies, trash removal servicers, concrete pourers, and petroleum suppliers.
Advantages of straight truck jobs are that they are usually local. Straight trucks are easier to drive than tractor trailers. It’s not all easy though. There is a great deal of paperwork that has to be completed when you are a professional driver. A log book of vehicle inspections as well as hours driven for business must be kept. There are plenty of rules relating to truck driving; a driver might be inspected at a port or pulled over by law enforcement and authorities will look at these materials for accuracy.
To obtain straight truck jobs, the driver needs a Class B CDL. A certificate earned from a truck driving school course would include all the preparation needed for the license. The driver must be able to perform safety inspections, be able to pass a drug test and a physical exams on a regular basis, and be 21 years of age. Knowledge of how to avoid rollovers, and handle a truck in all environments is another valuable skill.
